An Original Vintage Unfolded World War II Poster (measures 24" x 36" [61 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) Produce for Victory, the 1942 U.S. World War II (WWII) Home Front poster produced by Sheldon-Claire to encourage workers to maintain high production levels in order to help the war efforts. The Sheldon-Claire Co. was founded by Lew Shalett during the 1930s to provide employee motivational materials to industry. The posters and other materials were used by a wide range of companies, associations, government agencies, municipalities and other organizations. In 1981, Mr. Shallet sold his employee motivation program to Pratt & Whitney (however, that firm found that there was no market for it anymore and it was discontinued). Artist: Charles N. Tigrett Important Added Info: Note that this poster has a tagline of "Gosh! Look at 'em fly! My Pop helps make those planes. With flyers like that and workers like my Pop... us Americans are sure gonna win this scrap!", and features a photo of young boy in a straw hat. Also, note that we received an email from John Weaver stating that the boy in the photo is his father and that the photo was taken by his uncle, Charles Tigrett. Since the caption reads "My pop helps make those planes.", we asked Mr. Weaver if that was accurate, and he told us his father's father had passed away in 1937, meaning that they just created their own tagline on a "stock" photo, and that the Produce for Victory campaign did not use actual stories in this ad series! Condition: very good. There is tattering, discoloration, and small paper loss around the edges of the poster. The poster is otherwise in pretty nice condition. Learn More about condition grades
