An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Lobby Card (Learn More) Walt Disney's Pinocchio, the classic 1940 Hamilton Luske & Ben Sharpsteen Walt Disney animated animation puppet cartoon musical fantasy adventure ("Hi-Diddle Dee Dee!"; "Full length feature production"; "Jiminy Cricket - what a show!"; "In Multiplane Technicolor") featuring the voices of Dickie Jones (in the title role as Pinocchio), Cliff Edwards (as Jiminy Cricket), Christian Rub (as Gepetto), Evelyn Venable (as the Blue Fairy), Mel Blanc, Walter Catlett (as J. Worthington Foulfellow), Frankie Darro (as Lampwick), and Charles Judels (as Stromboli) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is from a wonderful "set of 12 multi-colored deluxe 8x10 lobby photos"! We were consigned it for this special auction. We are auctioning each of the 12 "lobby photos", which we are calling "8x10 lobby cards", because they are exactly like the 11x14 lobby cards, except smaller in size, in 12 separate auctions, plus we are auctioning the printed bag they came in, in a 13th auction. The bag did its job very well, which was to protect these cards, because they are in amazing condition! In addition, there is an unusual mystery about these cards. Four years ago, we auctioned what appeared to be another example of this set, because there were also 12 cards in that set (but no bag). Those had darkened, and one of the cards had two long creases with tiny surface paper loss. But only 11 of those 12 cards were the same as the cards in this set! Instead of the card from this set that shows Pinocchio outside the store holding an apple, the other set had a card with the fairy and Pinocchio! We have no idea why this would be. We KNOW that this was a complete set, because the bag says it is, and our consignor obtained the set when the movie opened, so we are not sure what the answer is. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that this item, along with many others, has a wonderful provenance! It comes from a remarkable collection of original 1940s Walt Disney pressbooks, mini lobby cards, and standees that just surfaced! Not only are all of these items extremely rare ones that are hardly ever auctioned, but they almost all are in really nice condition. The origin of these items is even more fascinating. Our consignor attended these movies as a young boy (he is currently over 80!), and a kindly theater owner gave him these items, and he has carefully preserved them all these many years, until now, when he has consigned them directly to us! We previously auctioned the original stills he had in our auction in May of 2016, and now we are auctioning the rest of his items. This is an incredibly rare opportunity to obtain some of the finest Disney pressbooks, mini lobby cards, and standees we have ever seen, and all of them will have new owners when these auctions close, because all start at $1 with no reserve. In addition to the items from this man's collection (saved from when it was a little boy over 70 years ago!), we also gathered together lots of other rare animation related movie paper items of all types, and together this is a wonderful offering of movie animation items! Many of these items will likely not be auctioned again for many years to come! Condition: fine. The card is in wonderful condition! Learn More about condition grades
