Harper (released outside the U.S. as "The Moving Target" and released in Italy as "Detective's Story"), the 1966 Jack Smight crime suspense thriller ("This is a different kind of cat named Lew Harper... And excitement clings to him like a dame!"; "Girls think Harper is kicky. But sometimes he makes them feel funny. See Harper make girls feel funny. See Harper."; "Paul Newman is 'Harper' and Harper does it better"; "Paul Newman if 'Harper'- and Harper is just NOT to be believed!!!"; "Harper looks for trouble. See Harper look. See Harper."; "This is a gun. It shoots straight. See Harper shoot straight."; "This is a fight. Harper has many fights. See the fights."; "This is a girl. Girls go for Harper. See girls go. See Harper go."; "These are people. These are tricky people. See Harper and the tricky people."; "Bad guys hate Harper. They punch his nose. They kick his head. See bad guys punch and kick Harper. See Harper punch and kick bad guys. See Harper"; "Harper is incredible! Harper is really something! See Harper be incredible and be really something. See Harper."; "Screenplay by William Goldman"; based on the novel 'The Moving Target' by Ross Macdonald; this film was followed by 1975's "The Drowning Pool" in which Newman played the same character) starring Paul Newman (in the title role as Lew Harper), ("in alphabetical order") Lauren Bacall, Julie Harris, Arthur Hill, Janet Leigh, Pamela Tiffin, Robert Wagner, and Shelley Winters

Important Added Info: SUPER IMPORTANT! THOUGH ONLY EIGHT OF THE STILLS ARE PICTURED, THE HIGH BIDDER ON THIS LOT WILL RECEIVE 30 STILLS FROM THIS MOVIE (but realize that on some of these lots with 9 or more stills there may be a few duplicates, mostly on post-1960 lots)! We realize there is an element of gambling to this, but we made only a small effort to find the best stills in these lots, and, if you have any willingness to gamble at all, you may find that you get some great stills that were not pictured! Please do NOT bid on this lot unless you can accept that you are only seeing eight of the stills. Note that these stills appear in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right of each still. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the stills were printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that they WERE printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us (and we have seen this on stills from the 1940s through the early 2000s, so it has certainly been done for an extremely long time)! So they are original stills from 1966, but they were printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Condition: very good to fine.
