Checkers, the 1919 Richard Stanton silent racetrack sports horse racing gambling romantic comedy ("The great racing drama"; "The sensational stage success"; based on the Henry Martyn Blossom novel and play; about a man who makes his living as a race track tout, which is someone who sells tips on which horses will win to people at the track; he hates his life and stops, but when the girl he loves, who is a female jockey, needs help, he resumes his old profession in order to get her the money) starring Thomas Carrigan (in the title role as Checkers), Jean Acker, Julien Beaubien, Ellen Cassidy, Robert Elliott, and Tammany Young. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had paper loss at the top crossfold, with tiny tears and tiny paper loss scattered in the top half of the vertical foldline and in the right half of the top horizontal fold, with minor wear on the other folds. It had some tiny tears and tiny paper loss around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was backed onto a thin linen with no excess, and restoration was performed to the image defects described above (see our image).
