An Original Vintage Linenbacked Stage Play Poster (measures 41" x 83" [104 x 211 cm]) (Learn More) The Three Penny Opera, the 1976 Richard Foreman Broadway musical stage play production (of Bertolt Brecht's musical) starring Raul Julia, C. K. Alexander, Caroline Kava, David Sabin, and Blair Brown. Bertolt Brecht was a German theatre practitioner, playwright, and poet from the 1920s to 1956. He was the main proponent of the genre named epic theater. During the Nazi period and World War II he lived in exile, first in Scandinavia and then in the United States. Returning to East Berlin after the war, he established the theatre company Berliner Ensemble with his wife and long-time collaborator, actress Helene Weigel. Artist: Paul Davis Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had scuffs in the bottom right corner and a few creases and scuffs scattered throughout. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. After the poster was backed, it was roughly handled, and it acquired a number of creases in the lower left and in the upper left, both in the poster and in the excess linen.
