He is surely one of the three or four greatest directors of all time! Some of his movies include: Ran (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film), Yojimbo, Seven Samurai, and Ikiru. He passed away in 1998 at the age of 88. Artist: Akira Kurosawa Important Added Info: Note that this postcard has been personally autographed (signed) by Akira Kurosawa! Note that this is from a remarkable collection of mostly postcards that originated from the estate of the late Jan Wahl. Mr. Wahl wrote over 100 children's books and received many awards, including the Coretta Scott King Prize. Throughout his career, he had a great love of silent film, and he collected many items from directors and movie stars he loved. Most of them were framed on the walls of Mr. Wahl's house! While there is nothing on this Christmas card to show it came from Mr. Wahl's collection, it comes with a red paper that he had attached to the back of the frame, which said "AKIRA KUROSAWA Sign Christmas Card c1975 Original & copy in sleeve...
