An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) The Fleet's In, the 1942 Victor Schertzinger Navy Naval military sailor romantic love triangle musical ("Based on the Story by Monte Brice and J. Walter Ruben, and a Play by Kenyon Nicholson and Charles Robinson") starring Dorothy Lamour, William Holden, Eddie Bracken, Betty Hutton, Betty Jane Rhodes, Leif Erickson, Barbara Britton, and Jimmy Dorsey & His Orchestra, Bob Eberly, and Helen O'Connell (Eberly and O'Connell are billed as "Featuring Bob Eberly and Helen O'Connell"). Note that this movie was made right before the U.S. entered World War II, but was released after Pearl Harbor, so therefore was likely one of the very last military movies made before the war! Also note that this movie was a remake of the 1928 movie of the same name starring Clara Bow, and it was remade in 1952 with Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin, re-titled "Sailor Beware". Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good to fine. The theater that used this slide wrote the days the movie was playing in the playdates section at the bottom of the glass. Otherwise, the glass slide itself is in nice condition and the cardboard holder has some minor smudges (as can be seen in our super-sized images). Learn More about condition grades
