An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style C One-Sheet Movie Poster (27" x 41") (Learn More) Rage in Heaven, the 1941 W.S. Van Dyke & Robert B. Sinclair romantic love triangle crime thriller ("New Triumph by the Author of 'Goodbye, Mr. Chips!'"; "Screenplay by Christopher Isherwood and Robert Thoeren"; "Based on the novel by James Hilton"; a strange story of a secretary to a rich woman; she starts going out with the woman's son, who previously was in a mental institution; he encourages her to go out with his friend, and yet he still marries her, and then he takes over his deceased father's business and starts running it into the ground, apparently slipping into insanity) starring Robert Montgomery, Ingrid Bergman, George Sanders, Lucile Watson, and Oscar Homolka. Note that Ingrid Bergman said that Robert Montgomery did not want to make this movie, but that MGM ordered him to, and that he purposely gave a poor performance, and that George Sanders was completely disinterested in the movie and spent most of his time between scenes sleeping! This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds. There were three small holes in the solid blue area above the "N" in "HEAVEN".
