To be the mistress... And the bride of a gorilla!"; "PRIMITIVE! PASSIONATE! Nothing like it ever before!"; "SHOCKING! A blonde beauty and a savage beast... ALONE in the JUNGLE!"; "Primitive! Passionate! Savage scenes never before unfolded!"; "A monster and a girl alone in a savage jungle!"; "Her clothes torn away screaming in terror"; "Her marriage vows were more than fulfilled!") starring Barbara Payton, Lon Chaney Jr. (billed as "Lon Chaney"), Raymond Burr, Tom Conway, Gisela Werbisek, Paul Cavanagh, Carol Varga, and Steve Calvert (in an uncredited title role as the gorilla). Note that in 1948, Steve Calvert bought Ray 'Crash' Corrigan's gorilla costume, which Corrigan had been using in movies since at least 1932. He appeared in 12 movies between 1948 and 1958 as a gorilla wearing Corrigan's costume! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had slightly diagonal creases to the right of the vertical foldline between the top and bottom crossfolds and there was tiny paper loss at the crossfolds, and some tiny tears and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some foldlines, and pinholes and some tears around the edges. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Note that the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster. Learn More about condition grades
