Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Paramount Burton Holmes Travel Pictures, the 1910s - 1920s silent travelogue documentary series ("World Famous Traveler") featuring Burton Holmes. Note that Burton Holmes was a famous world traveler. It is estimated that he gave over 8,000 illustrated travel lectures, using slides and motion pictures, from the 1890s to the 1950s. He traveled to every continent and to every country he could, circling the globe six times. Astoundingly, almost all his journeys took place before the invention of the airplane! When Paramount and MGM brought the Burton Holmes series to the big screen in the late 1910s and 1920s, it showed the adventures of the world traveler to audiences across the nation. One-sheets were made for each of these travelogues, but very few survive from any of them! If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This poster has been professionally linenbacked. It now looks great, and most dealers would describe it as "fine (or mint) on linen". We have noted the defects that were restored below (and feel everyone should always do this!). Many collectors would not be aware of the restoration this poster has had unless it was specifically shown to them! Condition: fine. Prior to linenbacking, this poster was in fine condition (pretty remarkable considering it is around 80 years old).
