Note that this was one of the nine wonderful movies that Astaire and Rogers made between 1933 and 1939 (they made one final movie, "The Barkleys of Broadway", thirteen years later in 1949). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been personally autographed (signed) by Ginger Rogers! Our consignor purchased this signed item from a major auction house, but they did not provide him with a certificate of authenticity. Note that we have only previously auctioned two examples of this half-sheet, and the last one was 9 years ago, when it sold for $3,000, and of course, that example was not signed! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster was never folded but had many light creases and scuffs scattered throughout. It had a 5" vertical tear in the center of the top border, with small paper loss at the upper part of that tear, partly in the blank border and partly in the background and finger. It had pinholes, tears, light stains, and small paper loss around the edges. It had some faint staining in Rogers' cheek at lower right, with creases in her upper lip and cheek. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. Someone linenbacked the poster and performed somewhat amateur restoration to the above defects, and the restoration and the defects are pretty noticeable. If I owned this great poster, I would surely have a talented restorer remove it from the linen and properly re-back it, being sure to preserve the signature at bottom center. Please bear the above in mind before bidding on this poster. Learn More about condition grades
