DeMille historical ancient Egypt romantic love triangle desert epic ("'The Siren of the Nile'... Most famous woman of love who ever lived!"; "A love affair that shook the world, set in a spectacle of thrilling magnificence!"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Claudette Colbert (in the title role as Cleopatra), Warren William (as Julius Caesar), Henry Wilcoxon (as Marc Antony), Joseph Schildkraut (as King Herod), Ian Keith (as Octavian), C. Aubrey Smith, Gertrude Michael (as Calpurnia), Arthur Hohl (as Brutus), Edwin Maxwell (as Casca), Ian Maclaren (as Cassius), and David Niven (in his third role, uncredited in a bit part as a slave!). Note that there had been a 1917 silent version of this movie with Theda Bara in the leading role, and it was remade in 1963 with Elizabeth Taylor (and, of course, there have been many other depictions of Cleopatra in movies all through the years).
