He may be best remembered for appearing on Celebrity Roasts, where he performed his classic "You know who never got a dinner...?" routine. Some of his movies include: The Longest Day, The Poseidon Adventure, It Could Happen to You, The Story of Us, and Pete's Dragon, and Sayonara (winner of the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film). He passed away in 2006 at the age of 87. Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Red Buttons! It is a letter from Red Buttons on his personal stationery to Buddy Adler of 20th Century-Fox, thanking Buddy for "sharing this wonderful night with me", and that he is "thrilled and happy beyond words". Mr. Buttons is referring to the night of March 26, six days before, when he won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for "Sayonara"!
