Note that this movie, together with Francois Truffaut's "Les quatre cents coups" began the French "New Wave", which revolutionized film-making, not only in France, but the world over! We have only auctioned this poster once before, and that poster has now been reconsigned to us, so it is still the only example of this French one-panel poster we have ever auctioned! In addition, we have only auctioned three of the "medium" size French posters in all our years of auctioning. First release French posters from this most classic French movie are extremely rare! Note that this poster ships in a very long tube (at least 33" long, but possibly 50" long or more). Therefore the shipping for this poster will be more than that for a poster that ships in a tube 32" or shorter, and possibly much more. Please bear this added shipping expense in mind before bidding on this poster. You can tell how long of a tube this poster needs to ship in by looking at the shorter dimension of its length and width and then adding 4" to that (so a 47" x 63" poster will need to ship in a 51" long tube).What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at some crossfolds and tiny paper loss at others. It had some partial extra folds, with some small tears and tiny paper loss on parts of some folds, with a quarter-sized area of paper loss in the upper right black background area, just slightly entering the edge of the image by the girl's neck. There was scuffing in the letters of the title. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
