International Migratory Bird Day is a conservation initiative program from 1993 to the present. The program was created by visionaries at the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center, and after substantial growth it is now under the direction of Environment for the Americas (EFTA), a non-profit organization that connects people to bird conservation through education and research. The program is celebrated annually on May 4th.
