An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Japanese "B1" Movie Poster (29x41; measures 28 1/2" x 40 1/2" [72 x 103 cm]) (Learn More) Marilyn, the 1963 Harold Medford biographical documentary ("See that chorus girl... She's the one they'll call M.M."; "Whether they said 'M.M.'... Or merely 'Monroe'... You always knew they were talking about the one and only Marilyn."; "See the sensational never-before-shown scenes from her last unfinished motion picture!") narrated by Rock Hudson ("Narrated on the screen... In person... By Rock Hudson"), and featuring Marilyn Monroe, Lauren Bacall, Cyd Charisse, Dean Martin, Charles Coburn, and Tom Ewell NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has an image of a totally naked Marilyn Monroe, artfully posed. We know this image was not used on any U.S. posters (for obvious reasons), and we have not seen it on any other Japanese posters! Also note that this is a rare Japanese "B1" poster that measures 28 1/2" x 40 1/2" [72 x 103 cm]! "B1" posters are FAR more rare than "B2" posters (which measure approximately 20" x 28 1/2"), and because they are larger (similar in size to a U.S. one-sheet), they are more impressive when displayed on a wall! What IS linenbacking? Learn More UPDATED 04/23/2012: Note that a knowledgeable collector pointed out that this sexy image is from Marilyn's unfinished film "Something's Got to Give"! Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had creases, a few tiny tears, and some tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some foldlines and some creases and tears around the edges. There were some creases scattered in the rest of the image. There is a purple stain in the bottom center of the poster just above the Japanese title and a few faint stains scattered elsewhere in the image. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but at some point after linenbacking, the poster was slightly roughly handled and there are now minor creases in the top 14" of the right border, mostly in the excess linen, but extending into the very edge of the poster in the top 4".
