Potter singing-and-dancing musical romantic comedy (a wacky story of a college student who is in his seventh year, so that he can keep up the carefree college life while working in a band, but then he meets a pretty secretary and falls for her, and when she gets a job in Artie Shaw's band, the student quits college and he and his partner go to New York City to try to join Artie Shaw's band, so he can be with the girl!) starring Fred Astaire, Paulette Goddard, Artie Shaw and His Band, Charles Butterworth, and Burgess Meredith. Note that the plot of this movie was pretty weak, obviously just a vehicle to allow for lots of singing and dancing, but it was made even weaker by having 41 year old Fred Astaire playing a college student! But the movie is still enjoyable and entertaining, and the real life Artie Shaw and his band play themselves! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. French posters from the first few years after World War II are among the most rare posters there are! Apparently, there were still major paper shortages in France, and few posters were printed, and most were recycled. This is an extremely rare French poster from 1947. Note that this French two-panel measures 62 1/2" x 92 3/4" [159 x 236 cm], and it was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap. Condition: good to very good. There is darkening on parts of some folds, but more so in the borders. There are some creases and several tears along the folds that were on the outside when the poster was fully folded. There are some creases, smudges, and tiny tears on the other folds, and some tiny paper loss at some crossfolds. Learn More about condition grades
