An Undated (probably late 1910s or early 1920s) Re-Release (re-titled "When You're Married" for this re-release) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 28" x 41 1/4" [71 x 105 cm]) (Learn More) Mabel's Married Life, the 1914 Mack Sennett silent romantic marriage slapstick comedy short (made during the first year Chaplin appeared in movies!) starring Mabel Normand (in the title role as Mabel), Charlie Chaplin (Charles Chaplin), Mack Swain, Eva Nelson, Hank Mann, and Charles Murray NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we don't know exactly when this poster is from. We know that most of the very early Chaplin films were re-released in 1918 by W.H. Productions, and that this re-release is from after that, but whether it is from 1919 or the very early 1920s is something we were not able to determine. These early Chaplin re-release posters are incredibly rare, and since almost no one-sheets exist from the first release of these 1914 Chaplin shorts, this is likely the only way a collector could ever hope to have a one-sheet from this title. If anyone knows more about Maco Comedies Charlie Chaplin re-releases, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this one-sheet measures 28" x 41 1/4" [71 x 105 cm]. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had some tiny bits of paper loss on the vertical fold, with a lesser amount of wear on the horizontal folds. It was folded in half an extra time, and it had a horizontal tear in the lower right border, extending into the "N" of "CHAPLIN". It had some pinholes, tears, and paper loss in the blank borders. It had some small paper loss in Chaplin's forehead and in Normand's chin and neck. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was really expertly backed by a top restorer, and it looks fantastic. From any reasonable viewing distance, it displays wonderfully, and even from close up, the restoration is not very apparent. Learn More about condition grades
