An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed Movie Lobby Card #7 (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Billy Wilder's Irma La Douce, the 1963 Billy Wilder Paris France prostitution romantic police corruption slapstick comedy ("A story of passion, bloodshed, desire and death... Everything, in fact, that makes life worth living."; "You couldn't ask for a funnier picture!"; "This picture is for adults only"; about an ex-cop in Paris who falls in love with a prostitute, and tries to get her out of that life by paying for all of her time) starring Jack Lemmon, Shirley MacLaine (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; in the title role as Irma La Douce), Lou Jacobi, Bruce Yarnell, Herschel Bernardi, and Hope Holiday (as the prostitute Lolita, who wears heart-shaped glasses) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this lobby card has been personally autographed (signed) by director Billy Wilder! Note that this card (and four other lobby cards that are signed by Billy Wilder that we are auctioning separately) comes to us from a collector who purchased them from a long time autograph collector who attended many shows and events on both coasts, obtaining autographs from celebrities in person. That autograph collector found out where Billy Wilder lived in Los Angeles, and he went to the building and asked the doorman if he could leave a package for Mr. Wilder (it contained a bunch of lobby cards, with a letter asking him to sign them). The doorman misunderstood what he was asking, and he called up to Mr. Wilder, who came down and met the collector and signed all the cards for him! Our consignor (and we) feel certain these autographs are authentic! Condition: very good to fine. Note that the card has a very minor printing defect, which is a series of faint light pink and blue lines down the left edge of the left blank border. This was a very minor printing defect that occurred during the printing of these cards, and it is found on many 1950s and early 1960s lobby cards, and few collectors consider it much of a defect at all, because it is in the left edge of the blank border, has no effect on the image, and would likely be on all examples of this lobby card. Other than the above, the card is in excellent condition! Learn More about condition grades
