An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Christopher Reeve was an actor from the 1970s to the 2000s. He will forever be best remembered for playing Superman in the series of 4 movies that began in 1978. Some of his other movies include: Somewhere in Time, Village of the Damned, Deathtrap, and Noises Off. Tragically, in 1995, he had an accident while riding a horse, and he became paralyzed from the neck down. He continued acting, but passed away in 2004 at the age of 52. In a tragic twist of fate, his wife Dana passed away in 2006 at the age of 44, after getting diagnosed with lung cancer, even though she never smoked! Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Christopher Reeve! Also note that this still appears in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the still was printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that it WAS printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us! So it is an original still from , but it was printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that our consignor purchased a collection of autographed stills that were collected by Leonard Sorgi, who was a unit manager for ABC for shows like The Soupy Sales Show, The Jerry Mahoney Show, and many others. He was also Unit Manager for the Academy Awards for a number of years, and during his long and varied career, he met many celebrities and obtained autographs from them in person (often personalized to him).
