An Undated (probably 1948) Realart Re-release Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Invisible Man Returns, the 1940 Joe May Universal science fiction (sci-fi) horror thriller sequel ("A new fantastic sensation suggested by 'The Invisible Man' by H.G. Wells"; "They hear him! They feel him! But they can't stop him!") starring Cedric Hardwicke (billed as "Sir Cedric Hardwicke"), Vincent Price (in the title role as the Invisible Man), Nan Grey, John Sutton, Cecil Kellaway, Alan Napier, Forrester Harvey, Ernie Adams, and Matthew Boulton NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). OR you can't see the restoration because it was so well done, but the poster had fairly significant defects. OR no restoration was performed, but the defects are not major, and restoration could be done to the poster without re-backing it. See below for its pre-restoration defects (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). Poster had creases and some tears on some foldlines, and paper loss at the crossfolds. It had minor smudges and creases, as well as some border defects, including pinholes in the corners. The poster is pretty well linenbacked, but the restorer did not touch the smudges around the edges of the poster or a small area of surface paper loss in the bandages on the Invisible Man's head. Any talented restorer could do additional restoration to the poster without re-backing it. Learn More about condition grades
