Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Loving You, the 1957 Hal Kanter rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) musical ("From a story by Mary Agnes Thompson"; loosely based on Elvis' own life, about a gas station attendant who is discovered by a publicist and a country western musician who then promote him into a rock 'n' roll star) starring Elvis Presley, Lizabeth Scott, Wendell Corey, James Gleason, Ralph Dumke, Paul Smith, Dolores Hart, Ken Becker, and Jana Lund. Note that producer Hal Wallis intended this to be the first Elvis film. However, six months before the start of production, Wallis loaned Elvis to 20th Century Fox for the 1956 film "Love Me Tender". Also, note that Elvis' parents made a cameo appearance in the movie as audience members in a theater. After his mother died, Elvis refused to ever watch the movie again, saying it was too sad for him to see his mother! Also note that this was the second of four movies that Elvis made before he went into the Army in 1958. He made no movies in 1959, and the public so wanted to see one that Paramount gave this movie and King Creole a full scale double-bill re-release just one and two years after they were made, with new posters for each, and the tagline "Elvis Presley back on the screen for the first time in a year"! Condition: very good to fine. tiny separation at the bottom crossfold; three small circular water stains in the red area at the bottom of the poster to the right of the "U" of "YOU"; a pinhole in each top blank corner; there are light creases running across the top foldline (and 1" above and below) that are somewhat noticeable in the bottom of the letters "PRESLEY"; The poster is in better condition than the above makes it sound! The image area of the poster is in nice unrestored condition (there is not a piece of tape anywhere on the poster), and the colors are bright. Its defects are basically minor and would vanish if it were linenbacked and the poster would look wonderful! Learn More about condition grades
