An Original Vintage Comic Book (measures 7" x 10 1/4" [18 x 26 cm]) (Learn More)

Frontline Combat was a pre-code military war story comic book from 1951 to 1954. This comic was published by Bill Gaines (William Gaines) through his company, EC Comics (E.C. Comics), which he inherited from his father in 1947. It was one of two war titles published by EC (the other was Two-Fisted Tales). They did not sell well for EC, but Bill Gaines continued publishing them because he and the artists and writers loved creating them, and they have some of the best (and most educational) content of any of the EC comics, even if they are not as revered by fans as the horror and science fiction titles. This was one of many EC comic titles published by Bill Gaines (later publisher of Mad Magazine). Since the ending of publication, all of the EC comics have been reprinted many, many times, in many formats, and there have been several movies and TV series based on them!

Please note that we don't use a "comic guide" grading system, and OUR grading scale is completely different from standard comic book grading. Our "very good" is completely different from a comic book graded "very good". We provide images of the comic book covers, plus 2 interior 2-page spreads, which should allow you to get a sense of the condition of this comic book.

This is one of an excellent collection of 138 vintage comic books we were consigned, which we are auctioning in 138 separate auctions. NONE of these comics have any restoration (unless noted in our condition description) and all of them came from a small group of collectors who purchased them mostly when they were first published, and none have been "slabbed" or "graded"! And EVERY one of these 138 comics (including some really excellent ones) start at $1 with truly no reserve. This is the kind of buying opportunity every comic book collector dreams of, and when these auctions close on January 16, every one of these comics will have a new owner!

Condition: poor to fair. The back cover is missing. Note that this comic book will be sent to the winning bidder in a brand new Mylite2 protective sleeve and a half-back 100% acid-free backing board.
