The Passionate Friends (released in the U.S. as "One Woman's Story"), the 1949 David Lean English romantic love triangle melodrama ("If you were Mary Justin, which would you choose?"; "One enchanted moment... Became a network of deceit!"; "Based on the novel 'The Passionate Friends' by H.G. Wells"; "Screenplay by Eric Ambler"; about a woman who is somewhat happily married, but then she meets her true love from many years ago, and she realizes that she still loves him; she does nothing about it, but they meet again by chance, and they have an encounter, but they go their separate ways afterwards) starring Ann Todd, Claude Rains ("This man offered riches, position, security... and all he wanted in return was loyalty"), Trevor Howard ("This man offered enchantment... and romantic love"), Betty Ann Davies, and Isabel Dean. Note that the plot of this movie has a strong resemblance to that of David Lean's great triumph from four years earlier, "Brief Encounter".

Condition: good to very good. There are pinholes, smudges, creases, scuffs, and a few tiny bits of paper loss around the edges of the card. There are two pairs of staple holes in Todd's hair at top center. There are two pieces of tape on the back of the borders, but they were not put there for any restoration purpose.
