(Learn More) Virgin Island, the 1958 (released in the U.S. in 1960) Pat Jackson English Virgin Islands tropical romantic melodrama ("Based on 'Our Virgin Island' by Robb White"; "Love and laughter on a Virgin Island"; "Laughter and romance on a desert island"; about a newlywed couple who buy a deserted island, and with the help of Sidney Poitier, make it their home; in some ways a re-telling of "Robinson Crusoe", except with a wife!) starring John Cassavetes, Virginia Maskell, Sidney Poitier, Isabel Dean, and Colin Gordon NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" item for this English movie! Also note that pressbooks were prepared prior to a movie being released. Often, changes would be made in a movie advertising campaign (billing of actors, different images, etc.), and the theaters would print up special supplements that they would send out with the pressbooks that had already been printed. These supplements are very rare, far more rare than the pressbooks themselves! Some pressbooks would have no supplements, some would have one, and some would have several. Finally, note that this English pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners purchased pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Condition: very good, NO CUTS. The supplement that is included with this pressbook was stapled to the front cover with two staples at top center. Otherwise, the pressbook is in nice condition!
