Soon a legend."; "From the California gold fields - to the Louisiana bayous, he drank and killed and loved and never forgot how to hate!"; "based on the character in 'The Carpetbaggers' created by Harold Robbins", "Screen story and screenplay by John Michael Hayes"; this was a "prequel" to the earlier movie, with McQueen playing a younger version of the character memorably played by Alan Ladd) starring Steve McQueen (in the title role as Nevada Smith), Karl Malden, Brian Keith, Arthur Kennedy, Suzanne Pleshette, Raf Vallone, Janet Margolin, Howard da Silva, Pat Hingle, and Martin Landau NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
