Tarzan first appeared in the novel Tarzan of the Apes (magazine publication in 1912 and book publication in 1914). He is depicted as a feral child raised in the African jungles by the great apes who later experiences civilization only to largely reject it and return to the wild as a heroic adventurer. The character has appeared in practically every form of media, including at least 100 movies starting in 1914, plus comic books, comic strips, TV shows, and much more! Important Added Info: Note that this limited edition 8x10 color REPRODUCTION has been hand-numbered 1/200! Also note that this REPRODUCTION photo was hand-colored by the artist onto the photographic paper with oil paints. So it is a black & white REPRODUCTION that has been hand-colored by artist Ron J. Turk. He did 200 of these in 1996, and this one is #1 of 200. It was nicely matted and the entire display is ready to frame and hang on your wall!
