An Autographed Letter (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm]) (Learn More) Anthony Perkins (sometimes billed as "Tony Perkins") was an actor from the 1950s to the 1990s. Some of his movies include: Psycho, Friendly Persuasion (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), On the Beach, The Trial, Tall Story, and Fear Strikes Out. He was diagnosed with AIDS in 1990, after the National Enquirer magazine illegally had his blood sample tested for the HIV virus. He passed away in 1992 at the age of 60 from the disease. Important Added Info: Note that this letter has been personally autographed (signed) by Anthony Perkins (he signed it "Tony Perkins", and it is written on his personalized stationery)! Also note that this auction also includes the envelope this letter was originally mailed in. Our consignor of this autographed item (and 31 others from the same consignor) was for many years the manager of theaters that performed stage plays. He acquired this signed item and others from celebrities who appeared at his theaters (some of the autographs are personalized to him, some to the theater he worked at, and some are not personalized). He does not have a certificate of authenticity for any of the items, but we believe it is extremely likely that all of his autographs are authentic. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.
