An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Man From Monterey, the 1933 Mack V. Wright Mexico/California cowboy western starring John Wayne, Ruth Hall, Luis Alberni, Donald Reed, Duke ("The Miracle Horse"), Slim Whitaker, and Tom London NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). good. The poster had many tears and creases down the vertical foldline, and some tiny paper loss down the vertical foldline, including a tiny bit in John Wayne's right eye. There were pinholes, creases, smudges, small tears, and some areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. The person who restored the poster did a pretty nice job restoring the above defects, but you can still somewhat see them (mostly when looking at the poster from close-up). From any distance away, the restoration becomes far less noticeable. Note that the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster.
