An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Japanese "B3" or "Nakazuri" Movie Poster (14x20; measures 15 3/4" x 20 1/4" [40 x 51 cm]) (Learn More)

Sanma No Aji (released in the U.S. in 1964 as "An Autumn Afternoon" and also as "The Widower"), the 1962 Yasujiro Ozu Japanese family relationship melodrama (about a widower who has an adult daughter who takes care of him, and he kindly arranges a marriage for her) starring Chishu Ryu, Shima Iwashita, Keiji Sada, Mariko Okada, and Teruo Yoshida. Note that Yasujiro Ozu was a legendary Japanese writer and director from 1920s to the 1960s. He is likely the second best regarded Japanese director after Akira Kurosawa, and many of his films are considered classics, and his masterpiece is "Tokyo Story" from 1953, although he made movies from 1927 to 1962. First release Japanese posters of any kind from any of his movies are beyond rare!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this Japanese movie! Also note that this Japanese B3 poster measures 15 3/4" x 20 1/4" [40 x 51 cm]. Finally, note that this is a "local city" poster. This means that the poster is not the one that Shochiku printed for the nationwide first release of this movie in 1962, but rather it is a poster that was printed (by a company contracted by Shochiku) for its 1962 first release in a specific city (or cities) other than Tokyo, and it has a different image than the nationwide one.

Condition: very good to fine. There is a very light vertical crease across the poster at left and right from it being stored with posters that were tri-folded and there are some light creases along those "waves". It is otherwise in pretty nice condition and it displays quite well!
