Some of his movies include: Lady for a Day (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film), It's a Wonderful Life, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, It Happened One Night (winner of the Best Director Academy Award for this film), Arsenic and Old Lace, Mr. Deeds Goes To Town (winner of the Best Director Academy Award for this film), Lost Horizon, You Can't Take It with You, and Meet John Doe. He passed away in 1991 at the age of 94 AND Leo McCarey was a director from the 1920s to the 1960s. He is best remembered for sentimental comedies and romantic melodramas. Some of his movies include: Duck Soup, Going My Way, Bells of St. Mary's, Awful Truth (winner of the Best Director Academy Award for this film), and Love Affair (which he remade as "An Affair to Remember").
