An Original Vintage Theatrical Kraftbacked Folded German Movie Poster (measures 33 1/4" x 53 1/2" [84 x 136 cm]) (Learn More) UFA Poster, the 1930s German export poster promoting an unknown film from UFA studio. These posters were designed to be used in non-German countries and were often missing a German title. Some had large blank areas were the foreign language title could be added. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster's image looks like it could be from the 1931 German movie, "Der Kongress tanzt", released in the U.S. as "Congress Dances". We can't say for certain. It is also possible that the poster is incomplete (there might have been a bottom section with a title or credits, but the placement of the UFA logo makes us think that is not true. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that this is a very rare "country of origin" poster from Germany from before World War II. There are very few German movie posters from before World War II in existence (because of the massive paper shortages in Germany during World War II), and most of those few are in museums. Also note that this poster has been kraftbacked, which means it was backed onto a brown paper soon after it was printed (this process is called "kraft-backing", and posters with it are called "kraft-backed"). One could have it professionally removed from the kraft paper and linenbacked, and it would look great! Condition: good to very good. The poster was kraftbacked (see above). It has creases on the folds and some smudges and stains around the edges, but it would display pretty well just as it is, or one could have it removed from the kraft paper and professionally backed.
