An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Rudolph Valentino and His Eighty Eight Prize-Winning American Beauties, the 1923 David O. Selznick silent beauty contest documentary short ("Most popular personality in the history of the amusement world", "Selected from the Principal Cities of the United States") featuring Rudolph Valentino, Norma Niblock, Eugenia Gilbert, Reba Owen, Mildred Adams, and Anne Sheridan (no, not THAT Ann Sheridan!). Note that this movie was made when Valentino had a contract dispute with his studio, and he and his wife were afraid that the public might forget about him, and so a cosmetics company hired them to go on a cross-country tour picking out 88 beauty contest winners, who then appeared in a beauty pageant in New York City, judged by Rudy himself, and this short was made out of footage from that contest by David O. Selznick! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Surely this must be the most difficult of all Rudolph Valentino titles to find any items from! We have never seen or heard of any item from this obscure short before! The slide does not have a cardboard holder, but rather there is black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of older glass slides. We have provided both a high quality scan of the image and also a separate image of how the glass slide looks, but in that digital image, you can really just see the outline of the slide and defects (if any) around the edges. Condition: fine. The slide does not have a cardboard holder, but rather there is black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of older glass slides. The slide is in nice condition!
