An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Mexican Movie Poster (measures 27" x 36 1/2" [69 x 93 cm]) (Learn More) Un Cuerpo de Mujer (literally translates to "A Woman's Body"), the 1949 Tito Davison Mexican family relationship romantic dance melodrama (about a man who finds a painting of a nude woman and learns different stories about her and in the end it turns out to be his mother) starring Maria Antonieta Pons, Eduardo Noriega, Ruben Rojo, Ramon Pereda, and Guillermo Alvarez Bianchi. It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Artist: Juanino Renau Berenguer Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this Mexican movie! Also note that the distributor of this movie had it overprinted with a black rectangle over the title and replaced it with "Sin Ti", which was the name of the song that became popular from the movie! While we have auctioned other examples of this poster, this is the first example we have had with this overprinting! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had darkened somewhat and it was overprinted over the title (see above). It had some tiny paper loss on parts of the folds. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
