She started in German movies in the 1920s, and then got her big break in Josef von Sternberg's "The Blue Angel", which was made in both a German and an English version. That led to a series of wonderful movies with von Sternberg. Some of her other movies include: Destry Rides Again, Shanghai Express, The Scarlet Empress, A Foreign Affair, Morocco (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Blonde Venus, Touch of Evil, Witness for the Prosecution, and Judgment at Nuremberg. She passed away in 1992 at the age of 90. Important Added Info: Note that this deluxe 10" x 13 1/4" still was taken by top Hollywood photographer Irving Chidnoff. He himself attached it to a 13 1/2" x 18 3/4" board and signed his name on the board below the lower left of the photo. Condition: good to very good. There is a faint water stain in the middle of the left of the backing board. There are a few tiny stains in Dietrich's body by the shadow (see our image). There is some darkening and faint staining around the edges of the backing board and tiny paper loss in the bottom right corner. Learn More about condition grades
