Date Sold 4/2/2020Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Moonshine, the 1918 Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle silent alcohol liquor bootlegging hillbilly feuding families comedy short ("Story by Herbert Warren"; about hillbillies living in the Ozark Mountains, and there are two feuding families of bootleggers, but then federal revenue agents, played by Arbuckle and Keaton, arrive, and they can't find the stills; the movie ends with Fatty in a cabin that is blown up by dynamite, but then he appears as the director, and runs the movie in reverse, and then pauses it, which gives him a chance to escape the building before it blows up!) starring Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle, Buster Keaton, Al 'Fuzzy' St. John, Alice Lake, and Charles Dudley. Note that this was one of 17 movies that Fatty Arbuckle starred in that also had appearances by Buster Keaton, who had not yet reached major fame (he was not billed or pictured on almost all posters from these 17 movies). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper items from this movie are incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a title card (which recently sold for $343 in "fair" condition) and a Danish program (and NO other movie paper) from this movie until we received this title lobby card! Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: fair to good. There are light stains in the upper left and the top half of the right border, with some smudges around the edges. There is paper loss and surface paper loss in the right of the bottom border, affecting the studio credit. There is a tear in the top center and a tiny tear in the middle of the left border. It is very fortunate that these defects do not affect the central image, or the title or tagline, and certainly, any restorer can "rescue" this card, with almost no paint in the main image or in the title or credits. But look at our super-sized image and bear the above in mind before bidding on this extremely rare card. Learn More about condition grades
