Date Sold 4/14/2024Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Spanish Campaign Book (measures 9" x 11" [23 x 28 cm]; 58 pages) (Learn More) United Artists 1935-36, the 1935 Spanish campaign book sent to Spanish theater owners to encourage them to show United Artists movies. Note that this book is completely different than the U.S. version of it from the same year that we have previously auctioned. It is spiral-bound and it has far more pages (58 in all). We can't find that there was an English language version that looked like this at all! The highlight of this book is surely the 2-page full-color spread with a great cartoon image of Walt Disney's Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck on one side and many of the Silly Symphonies characters on the other side. It also has one and two-page ads for United Artists' top releases and stars at that time, which include Robert Donat in The Count of Monte Cristo, Leslie Howard in The Scarlet Pimpernel, Ronald Colman in Clive of India, Clark Gable and Loretta Young in The Call of the Wild, and many more (and most of these were not advertised in the U.S. version of this book). Campaign books from the 1930s are extremely rare, but the ones from United Artists are even more rare than those from the other studios! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this Spanish campaign book! Condition: very good. The cover is printed on a plastic-like material, and it is lightly rippled around the edges. The inside back cover is mostly blank and has faint brown stains on it. Otherwise, the book is in pretty nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
