eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result f389 GREEN HORNET linen Kato style one-sheet movie poster '74 Bruce Lee Date Sold 2/7/2006Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Kato Style One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) the 1974 re-packaging of The Green Hornet (also released as "Kato"), the 1966 William Beaudine & Norman Foster crime costumed superhero fantasy action thriller ("Written by Jerry Thomas"; a full-length feature version of episodes of the TV show, where Bruce Lee's Kato character was prominent) starring Bruce Lee ("Son of the Dragon"; as Kato), Van Williams (in the title role as The Green Hornet), Wende Wagner, Lloyd Gough, and Walter Brooke. This "feature" was made to cash in on Bruce Lee's recent tremendous success with "Enter the Dragon" and his Hong Kong martial arts movies, and multiple one-sheets were made to promote it, and one even includes an image of Bruce Lee holding nunchucks, which comes from Enter the Dragon and NOT from The Green Hornet TV series, which is the height of deceptiveness! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). Note that we gave this condition grade to a very few posters that were in pretty good condition prior to linenbacking, but which were not all that well linenbacked, and which could be fairly easily re-backed with only minor additional restoration. The poster has a circular pen mark int eh "E" of "BRUCE" at the top center of the poster. There was tiny surface paper loss on some foldlines (typical of high-gloss posters of this period) and some minor border defects. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, but the restorer did not touch up the ink mark at the top of the poster (any restorer could easily touch it up without re-backing the poster).
