Date Sold 6/11/2020 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 6 Original Vintage Theatrical (measure from 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" [19 x 24 cm] to 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm]) Movie Stills (Learn More) McQ, the 1974 John Sturges Seattle Washington police detective crime action thriller ("Seattle PD"; "McQ - he's a busted cop, his gun is unlicensed, his methods are unlawful and his story is incredible!"; "Wayne on wheels..."; "Written and Co-Produced by Lawrence Roman"; about an honest detective caught up in a police department filled with corrupt members, including his own partner) starring John Wayne (in the title role as McQ), Eddie Albert, Diana Muldaur, Colleen Dewhurst, Clu Gulager, David Huddleston, and Al Lettieri ("as Santiago"). Note that there are those who feel that John Wayne was imitating Clint Eastwood's Dirty Harry (from three years earlier), but there are also those who feel this is an excellent movie, although it is very downbeat. Important Added Info: Note that these stills appear in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right of each still. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the stills were printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that they WERE printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us (and we have seen this on stills from the 1940s through the early 2000s, so it has certainly been done for an extremely long time)! So they are original stills from 1974, but they were printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
