In the war-torn Mediterranean!"; "LADD...in Hand-to-Hand combat...in the war torn Mediterranean!"; based on the novel by Martha Albrand) starring Alan Ladd (in the title role "as Captain Carey, U.S.A."), Wanda Hendrix, Francis Lederer, Joseph Calleia, and Celia Lovsky. It is interesting to note that this movie included the classic song "Mona Lisa", which won the Academy Award for Best Song, and that may be the single most remembered fact about this movie!
