Auction History Result #1003 1940S FOIL CARDS 9 foil lobby cards '40s Disney Date Sold 1/20/2004Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 9 Original Vintage Theatrical Special Foil Lobby Cards (measure 11" x 14") (Learn More) These cards were printed in the 1940s to be used by movie theaters to advertise shorts that were playing with current features. Note that this was a special set of really cool foil lobby cards (on extra heavy stock) that a theater would use to put in their ticket office or lobby so that patrons could know what short subjects were playing that week! Based on the names on the cards, this set is almost certainly from around 1937 or 1938. The shorts were Walt Disney cartoons, Selected Subjects, Popular Science, Sport Thrills, Screen Song cartoons, Silly Symphony, News Flashes, March of Time, and Floyd Gibbons adventure. I have never seen or heard of another set of these cards before! I doubt another complete set exists!. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
