An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Style B Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Conquest of Space, the 1955 Byron Haskin science fiction (sci-fi) outer space astronaut thriller ("See how it will happen ...in your lifetime!"; produced by George Pal; "Based on the book by Chesley Bonestell and Willy Ley", who were both highly acclaimed science fiction/science fact writers; the writers were very correct that it would happen in "your" lifetime; they correctly predicted a space station, and they were off on the timing of a manned Mars expedition, but that is likely coming soon, and there was a movie recently made about that, called "The Martian"!) starring Walter Brooke, Eric Fleming, Mickey Shaughnessy, Phil Foster, William Redfield, William Hopper, Benson Fong, Ross Martin, and Joan Shawlee NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Some pre-1970 half-sheet posters were machine folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 half-sheet posters (note that most post-1970 half-sheets were NOT machine folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those half-sheets). Condition: good. The poster was never folded. There is paper loss along the left blank border (see our image) and there is a tear at lower left that has been repaired with tape from the back. There are creases scattered in various areas and there are a few dot stains and tiny smudges.
