Beech-Nut is a company that was founded in 1891 in the town of Canajoharie, New York which originally sold smoked hams and bacon. During the first 25 years of the 20th century, the company expanded its product line into peanut butter, jam, pork and beans, ketchup, chili sauce, mustard, spaghetti, macaroni, marmalade, caramel, fruit drops, mints, chewing gum, and coffee. They owned the Life Savers brand of candy, but they were originally marketed as Beech-Nut Luster-Mints. They also were the first company to make "all natural" baby food.
