An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) John Brophy's Immortal Sergeant, the 1943 John Stahl World War II (WWII) military romantic melodrama (based on the novel by John Brophy; about a Canadian soldier in the British army in North Africa, and he worries about his girl back home and how he will do when his mentor, a tough sergeant, is killed in action) starring Henry Fonda, Maureen O'Hara, Thomas Mitchell, Allyn Joslyn, Reginald Gardiner, Melville Cooper, Bramwell Fletcher, and Morton Lowry. Note that Henry Fonda was made "Canadian" in this movie to explain why he was the only one without an English accent, and that immediately after this movie, Fonda (not unlike Mister Roberts) enlisted in the Army so that he could actually play a role in the real war. After he got out, he played Mister Roberts on stage, and ended up in that role for six years, and over 1,600 performances! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
