Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this poster from the 1946 French re-release of this movie! First release poster material from this movie has always been incredibly scarce. We have never auctioned any French poster from either the first release or any other release of this movie, and the only U.S. items we have auctioned have been stills and the glass slide. You might wonder if this poster might not be from the 1936 release of this movie in France, because of its larger size, but we have researched this with French poster experts who tell us that they are convinced that this poster is from the 1946 re-release, so we are identifying it that way. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had a few tiny scuffs and just a few tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some folds. It had tiny pinholes around the edges and a faint scuff in the lower right black area that extended upward to the last of Karloff's fingers. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
