An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 81" [104 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) The Hat Box Mystery, the 1946 Lambert Hillyer detective mystery crime murder thriller ("When the headlines cry murder...they may be shrieking at YOU!"; "Like a Jack-in-theHatbox... murder jumped out and claimed its victim!") starring Tom Neal, Pamela Blake, Allen Jenkins, Virginia Sale, and Leonard Penn. Note that Screen Guild Productions originally intended to release this short movie as part of a double bill package with "The Case of the Baby Sitter", but at the last minute, they changed their minds and released them separately (even though this film is only 44 minutes long) a couple weeks apart. This type of film was known as a "streamliner", which was between a short and a feature in length (usually running from 42 to 47 minutes). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. That poster has now been reconsigned to us, so it is still the only example we have ever auctioned! Also note that this three-sheet was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap. Condition: good. There is some darkening on the back of the part of the poster that was on the outside when it was fully folded. There are some creases and several tears along the folds that were on the outside when the poster was fully folded.
