An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Belgian Movie Poster (measures 22 1/2" x 34 3/4" [57 x 88 cm]) (Learn More) The Thirteenth Chair, the 1937 George B. Seitz England clairvoyant seance murder mystery crime melodrama ("From the play by Bayard Veiller"; "The screen dares new thrills!"; "The screen mystery that defies solution... just as the stage play held audiences breathless, spellbound for 40 weeks!"; "13 WERE ALIVE... when the lights went out!"; about a phony clairvoyant who holds a seance and one of the people is murdered, and Scotland Yard investigates the case, but the medium brings the remaining people together for a second seance, trying to scare the guilty party into revealing themselves) starring May Whitty (billed as "Dame May Whitty"; as the clairvoyant/medium), Madge Evans, Lewis Stone, Elissa Landi, Thomas Beck, Henry Daniell, Janet Beecher, and Ralph Forbes. Note that this was based on a very successful 1916 Broadway play that had been filmed in 1919, and was remade in 1929, by Tod Browning, and this was the third remake! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a rare "pre-War" Belgian poster. Prior to World War II, Belgian posters were much larger than the ones from after the war, and they are extremely rare (because during WWII, there was a massive paper shortage in Belgium, and they took virtually every poster and map, and printed new posters on the backs of them!). Also note that this poster was machine folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. There is some tattering and small paper loss in the middle of the play date area at top. There is some staining across the bottom 4" of the poster and in the area of the "C" in the title at upper left. There are minor creases throughout the poster (more so along the left edge). The poster is otherwise in pretty nice condition and its colors are still vibrant and after linenbacking it will look great! Learn More about condition grades
