An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) -But the Flesh is Weak, the 1932 Jack Conway romantic family relationship fortune hunter comedy (based on the stage play "The Truth Game" by Ivor Novello; about a father and son who are both fortune hunters, and the father gets deep in debt and his son can save him by marrying a rich woman, but he has met his true love who is poor) starring Robert Montgomery, Nora Gregor, Heather Thatcher, Edward Everett Horton, and C. Aubrey Smith. Note that this is an odd movie, because it was made by MGM, but it takes place in London, and Robert Montgomery is pretty much the only American actor in the cast! Nora Gregor was the female lead, and she had an unusual background. She was born in Austria-Hungary, and became an operetta diva in Austria and Germany, and in 1930, she moved to Hollywood, where she appeared in a few movies. In 1937, she married a German Prince, and lived in Vienna, but she later moved to Switzerland (no doubt due to Hitler and World War II), and she later moved to France and then Chile, where she committed suicide in 1949, at the age of 48. She is completely forgotten today. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: very good. There is a small tear in the right border and some tack holes and slight darkening around the edges. Otherwise, the card is in pretty nice condition. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
