An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Herald (measures 3 1/2" x 5" [9 x 13 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More)

Hotel Imperial, the 1927 Mauritz Stiller silent World War I (WWI) Austria romantic melodrama ("Story by Lajos Biro"; about a woman who believes her sister committed suicide because of the man she was involved with, and she decides to get revenge in an incredibly elaborate scheme, beginning with getting a job as a maid in the hotel where he lives) starring Pola Negri, James Hall, George Siegmann, Max Davidson, Michael Vavitch, Otto Fries, and Nicholas Soussanin. Note that in the early 1930s, Marlene Dietrich wanted to do a sound remake of this movie, and much money was spent preparing it, but Dietrich quit, causing the studio to lose a lot. It was revived a few years later with Margaret Sullavan intended to star, but that did not happen either, and it was finally remade in 1939 with Isa Miranda in the lead role.
