An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French One-Panel "Grande" Movie Poster (1p; measures 47" x 63" [119 x 160 cm]) (Learn More) Tintin et les Oranges Bleues (literally translates to "Tintin and the Blue Oranges"), the 1964 Philippe Condroyer French/Spanish science fiction (sci-fi) family adventure live-action comedy (based on the characters created by Herge) starring Jean Bouise, Jean-Pierre Talbot (in the title role as Tintin), Felix Fernandez, Jenny Orleans, and Angel Alvarez. Note that the first Tintin live-action film was the 1961 Tintin et le Mystere de la Toison d'Or. It was a success and this second live-action film was produced. However, all of the roles except for the part of Tintin were recast, and the film did not do well. Since then, there have only been animated Tintin films. It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Herge Important Added Info: Note that there is a tiny "11/64 Depot legal 64/4" with "27965" under the Depot legal after the printer information at the bottom of the poster. This means that this poster is a 1964 first release poster. In the past, when we have auctioned another poster with "8/66 Depot legal 66/3" and the number "28804" under the Depot legal (which means that it was the third time the poster was printed), BUT THIS IS THE VERY RARE FIRST RELEASE POSTER FROM 1964! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had small paper loss at some crossfolds and some creases, tears, and tiny paper loss on parts of some foldlines. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above, but they are really not very distracting (and a talented restorer could touch them up without re-backing the poster).
